Mountain RanchAbout 50 miles east of Stockton, CA is the community of Mountain Ranch. It's just off of Mountain Ranch Rd. at Whiskey Slide Rd. When in Mountain Ranch, you are also near San Andreas, a city nine miles east of Mountain Ranch, the County seat of Calaveras County government. Mountain Ranch was first established circa 1854 and was founded as the community of El Dorado Camp. When the settlers applied for a post office, they found the name El Dorado already taken, so they settled on calling the townsite Mountain Ranch.

"Downtown" Mountain Ranch has Sender's Market (A fabulous grocery store, hardware store and lumberyard) 2 churches, 2 historic post offices, a gas station, a saloon, and 2 real estate offices (We think we are the best one naturally!)
